Anti Wrinkle Home Remedies

In the quest for anti aging creams and anti wrinkle creams, there are some home remedies that have been declared as miracle workers for a fraction of the cost of some of the expensive items on the market today. With so many ways to attack the skin aging and wrinkling problems that occur naturally as part of aging, but may also be accelerated by other factors, such as over-exposure to the sun, many individuals are trying recommended products with good success rates.

As eye puffiness can pronounce skin around the aye area, it slowly stretches over time, and creates wrinkles when it constricts. For a long time, models have supposedly used Preparation H in the eye area to reduce puffiness, but it is not suggested by the drug's maker. Wyeth, recommend users do not get any near the eye or mouth area. The idea behind this use is the reduction of swelling when used as directed. It is based on the principle that keeping eye puffiness to a minimum will stop the skin from stretching, therefore, new 'un-stretched' cells slowly appear and give a more youthful appearance.

There are many testimonials that this method works. How it works, is what needs to be looked at. In the original formula of Prep H, that was made back in the 30's, it contained Biodyne, (which is also called LYCD, live yeast culture developments), and shark liver oil, which has strong antioxidant powers and is used in some cancer treatments, due to the slowdown of cell turnover. Over 10 years ago, the FDA banned these ingredients in Prep H and today's formula now contains phenylephrine, which is a type of astringent. However, people that are still using it in anti aging and wrinkle treatment still claim that it works, so it may be that the other ingredients it contains, such as mineral oil, petrolatum, corn oil, lanolin and thyme oil, which are all emollients, may be the ingredients that are showing wrinkle reduction.

Before, olive oil was suggested to be a home remedy that caused wrinkle reduction. It has also been shown that shark liver oil can now be created synthetically from olives, rice and wheat germ, as additive in anti-aging creams and anti-wrinkle creams. Anyone can still buy the original formula Preparation H with Biodyne and LYCD as well as shark oil from Canada, and lots of people do, because it is still cheaper than many treatments that claim to include these ingredients.

Cocoa Butter products also have been touted as good skin rejuvenators, and this is found in many anti-aging cream formulas, as well as many sun exposure products. In summary, it would appear the benefits might come from the intense oil content of the products and emollient properties. There are some anti-aging creams and anti-wrinkle creams sold on the Internet, that claim to contain LYCD's or shark liver oil, but not like the original Prep H formulation. Preparation H in its present form has a blood vessel constrictor, which is what minimizes the swelling effect. It is not recommended that it be used in the eye area over a pro-longed period of time.
